- Tax savings shown assume you itemize deductions and that your full charitable contribution is deductible against income at your marginal rate.
- State tax savings assume your state allows a charitable contribution deduction at the rate shown. Several states limit or disallow this deduction; consult your tax advisor.
- Federal cash charitable contributions are limited to 60% of AGI per year; amounts above the limit carry forward up to 5 years.
- This estimate doesn't apply the federal rules that start in 2026: only charitable gifts above 0.5% of your adjusted gross income count toward the deduction, and the tax benefit of itemized deductions is capped at 35% for taxpayers in the 37% bracket.
- Education Opportunity Funds accept ACH transfers (no processing fee) and donor-advised fund grants through DAFPay (3% processing fee, not included above). A grant from your donor-advised fund doesn't create a new tax deduction. Appreciated securities aren't supported yet.
- Platform fee tiers apply to each individual donation. Each approved EOF referral takes 0.5% off, for up to 7 referrals, and the platform fee never goes below 1%.
